Hypergrowth can be equal parts exhilarating and terrifying depending on the day. In Redefining HR I wanted to explore examples and case studies to take readers through different growth scenarios, case studies, and how to increase your chances of getting it right.
In this course, I’m going deeper with video leadership lessons and tips from the trenches from some of the top chief people officers in the space.

Prioritize diversity and representation early
Diversity debt is a very real issue in hypergrowth. If you build systems to form representative and inclusive teams early, that representation will scale as you grow.
Build a foundation that scales
The early days of hypergrowth are often 90% recruiting, 10% everything else. Try to avoid this trap and make time to think and design thoughtfully with an eye for where you're going rather than where you are today.
This can mean investing in technology before you need it. (i.e. if you're at 50 employees and going to 300 in two years, invest in tools and build systems that are designed for 300).
Recruit smartly
Executive and technical recruiting agency costs (contingent and retained) are often some of the biggest HR/people ops expenses outside of compensation. Many companies invest in technical recruiters early to offset those costs, but they still pay massive fees for executive hiring. Hiring a dedicated in-house executive recruiter will save you $$$ in the short and long term.
Go in early on ops
Invest in HR/recruiting operations early for system integration, data, and scalability.
