Employee Experience (EX) has gone through some seismic shifts over the past two-plus years. The how, when, and where we work is all changing at a breakneck pace - and it’s far from over.
The push and pull of return to workplace plans.
The disconnect regarding remote work between employees and leaders.
Manufactured drama like “quiet quitting” is gaslighting employees.
As we continue building the new world of work we need to about what it means to create an environment where employees can do their best work, and what HR’s role is in making that happen.
No, we can’t drive happiness. That’s intrinsically driven by individual needs and is not HR’s job. What we can and should do is create more flexible spaces where all employees can thrive.
Internal considerations as you think about optimizing your employee experience
Be sure you’re surveying your employees often to gauge sentiment and trends over time.
Prioritize internal mobility to strengthen retention.
Consider scaling coaching opportunities beyond leadership and “high-potentials.”
Remote or hybrid companies should orient policies, procedures, and operating rhythms to remote-first so you don’t create two classes of employees.
