The experiences of HR practitioners over the past eighteen months have been a rollercoaster of emotions as the events of 2020 and beyond have created unique challenges and opportunities for the field of HR and people operations.

We’ve played a central role in a series of seismic events spanning the global pandemic, social justice, remote and hybrid work, mental health, burnout, the great resignation, political volatility, and designing new flexible models of work.

These events have been difficult for everyone, but they’ve put unique and acute pressure on our field as we’ve helped our companies, leaders, and teams navigate these waters - while also processing what they mean for ourselves and our families.

There’s a profound duality at this moment in time.

This collective exhaustion - mental and physical - from carrying all of the trauma of the past 18 months is very real. Stories of burnout are everywhere.

At the same time, we’ve been elevated to this central strategic position within our organizations and we recognize the once-in-a-generation opportunity we have to redesign the very nature of how work, works.

I’ve always been drawn to the power of stories and the intimacy of audio. I wanted to create a platform for practitioners to share their stories and experiences with a broader audience to help build more understanding and awareness of what it’s been like to walk in our shoes. That’s why I’m excited to launch this media series.

Introducing The Amplify Story Lab

The Amplify Story Lab is a new media series aimed at elevating the voices and experiences of modern HR practitioners as they navigate this new work landscape. I’m launching with a series of one-minute audio stories from HR, people, talent, recruiting practitioners around the world sharing their stories.

You can listen to some of the pilot stories below and view the full website for more stories and share yours below.
