Welcome to a new series in the Amplify Digest newsletter - Build in Public.

Last month I announced the next evolution of the Amplify Accelerator, a transformation to the Amplify Academy. The foundation of the Amplify Academy will be the new Amplify Learning Lab - an AI learning platform built from the ground up to help modern people operators access the tools, resources, education, and community you need to navigate the new world of work.

When I announced the Academy I committed to building in public and sharing the journey, progress, missteps, and more along the way as I work to get this built and launched in June. Here’s an update on progress so far:

🧰 250+ resources
🎓 20+ full courses
🧠 4+ cohort guest instructor presentations (of 12 for launch)
💨 30+ Redefining HR Leadership Bytes

NEW:  Amplify Community Wisdom

The Amplify Accelerator Community was specifically designed to help modern people operators expand their networks, thinking, and connections. Each week, I'll spotlight a helpful thread from the Community to help Amplify Digest subscribers learn from the discussions.

[Question] Hi team. Really need my peeps...Coming out of the news yesterday about the US SCOTUS opinion, my CEO and I are preparing our response and have toyed with the idea of going one step further and actually making a benefit change to support our employees who need access to reproductive care and may not live in a place where it's accessible if/when the courts opinion becomes law. Several larger companies have already started this trend but we wanted to see if smaller peer companies are doing/thinking about doing something similar. I realize this is a very sensitive topic for companies so I'd appreciate anyone willing to share your approach.

  • A1: Pyn is pretty small still I believe and shared this today.

  • A2: Yep, we are a small team and I just drafted that yesterday. Happy to chat about it if you want another person to bounce ideas off of.

  • A3: First off snaps to you for fast action! Second, we are exploring our options on how to support employees in impacted states. We have not gotten far on this but happy to share when i have something to share.

  • A4: This is so great. I will definitely take you guys up on that and will also share out what we end up doing.

  • A5: Can I just say y'all are amazing for getting this together for your peeps during this crazy time.

  • A6: Quick question. are you all offering the funds in advance or is it a reimbursement afterwards? No tax implications if it's a reimbursement but any tax implications you all uncovered if you give the funds up front?

  • A7: I don't think we fully worked that through to be honest. We don't want people to have any tax implications or have it seen as compensation.
I think ideally it would be a reimbursement - and then if folks can't upfront the money we would find a way to advance it to them.

  • A8: Got it! Something to be aware if you do upfront the money, it might be considered taxable income just the same as like a gift card or something. I've got an email out with our tax attorney and will keep you posted.
